She was a Jeannie. Her bottle was starting to get a little cramped. As she was out walking through the market place, she spotted a big bottle. There were some baskets stacked around it, way in the back corner of the little shop. She knew it was a bottle because a spark of light gleamed off the glass. She casually made her way back to the corner and gently moved the baskets out of the way. She saw the bottle, it was big and the sides curved in a shape that she liked. She picked it up and held it up to the light because the room was very dark. She liked it even more, once she held it in her hands. It was heavy, but not too heavy. She carried it up to the front of the store.
“I would like to purchase this bottle, it is for sale?” The shop keeper looked at her. She was a beautiful woman. She was dressed strange. She had her hair up in a pony tail and a veil across her face. She had on rich velvet purple pants. She had on a satin short top with see through material for the arms. The top was in a violet color. Her lips were cherry red and she had beautiful violet eyes with long black eyelashes. He was mesmerized by her eyes.
He just kept looking into her eyes. Again she said, “Is this for sale?” Her beautiful voice went deep into his brain.
“Huh, Oh, Yes, for you, I will give it to you at a good price! Have dinner with me and it is yours.” A smile crept on her lips. She revealed beautiful white teeth. She was the vision of beauty. “Oh, I can’t, just let me pay you for this.”
She took out a wad of bills and took his hand and put the money into it and curled his fingers around the money. “I think that should be enough.” Then there was a poof and in a flash she was gone. He looked around, she was nowhere to be found. She just vanished into thin air.
She held the bottle in her hands. She took the cork from her old bottle and it fit perfectly into the new one. “Perfect, she thought. I need to decorate it.” She took a paint brush and her pallet of beautiful colors and painted different colors of patterns all over the outside. It looked like a pattern of stained glass. She set it down and let the wind blow over it to dry. When it was done, she flipped open the cork and worked her magic and turned into a column of purple vapor smoke and went into the bottle. She made herself very tiny, so when she was inside the bottle, it looked very big. While inside she loved looking at all the wonderful colors on the glass walls. She was home. Now she needed new furniture, that is another story.
This story is for Wordsmith Unlimited, a challenge to write a store about the bottle picture.
So… what kind of furniture goes with painted glass? Something soft I should think.
Major Nelson is going to be very cross when he finds out she’s been out in public dressed like that though. Not to mention how pist he’s gonna be to find out she cleaned out his wallet!
