spoke those famous words “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”   We all cheered, it was an amazing moment.  Then I read that President Kennedy was shot.  The memory of sadness flooded into me.  I started to get all choked up and got very sad.  It was on the TV and it was hard to wrap my thoughts around that they would kill the President.  Jackie was covered in blood and crawling out on the car.  She said she was trying to get pieces of his brain.  I had to stop reading.  It happened so long ago but was like watching a movie in my mind, remembering it all.

My son said “Mom, what is it, why are you so sad?”   I said I was so proud when they walked on the moon and so sad when Kennedy got shot.   It was very tramatic to see and experience.

Rain

My son woke up sick. “Mom, my throat hurts, it is really sore.” I took his temperature, he didn’t have a fever yet. I gave him some Nyquil and filled up the humidifier in his room with water and a splash of Vicks. I told him to go back to sleep, I would call him in sick at school. He gets out of school in two weeks. Why did he have to get sick now. Oh I know why, the school had a field trip to Wonder Works two days ago. A place where a lot of people go, and touch everything. I called the school and told them he was sick. He got worse later. He feels awful and is starting to get a fever. I got him that stuff that you spray in your mouth to numb your throat. That stuff tastes awful. I squirted it in his mouth and he threw up. I put him to bed early. I have to go up and check his temp to see if he is getting hotter. I don’t like seeing him sick. I also don’t want to get sick either. Whenever he gets sick, it seems we all get sick.

This morning the sky turned dark. That is the picture I took. It was so dark and cloudy. The sky was covered in clouds and the air smelled thick of rain. The rain smell before you get a big storm. It started thundering, big booms ringing in the air. Lightening flashing all around. Then all of the sudden it started to rain, a lot. It covered my garden in water. The power went off. It was not off for very long. The forcast for weather around here for the next 3 days is almost 3 inches of rain. I think we got an inch today. My garden looked like it was about 4 inches of rain, it was flooded. It has drained down since then.
