I have been reading e-books for a year now. At first I thought it was strange, but it saves me a trip to the library. E-books are great to read. I bought a Kindle Fire at Christmas time. I got the one with the ads on it. On black Monday Amazon had it on sale for $128.00. The regular price is $159. I read all the comments about it, and some people paid the extra $15 for no ads, but I don’t really notice the ads. When you turn it on, you swipe your finger across it to open it and the ads disappear. The other day I read a book called Zoo. I reserved it at the library and I had forgotten that I asked to hold it when it came in. It took 3 months wait to get the book. I went to the library and checked it out. I have not read a regular book in a long, long time. The book was heavy and I had to hold it open to read it. I had to sit by a bright light to read it. I had to use a book marker to save my place. The book was really good. I read it in one day, in fact that is all I did for that day, read the book. I could not put it down, it was so good. It has 99 chapters and at chapter 70, I remembered I had put the audio book on my MP3 player, so I found it and went to chapter 70 and listened to the rest of it. The book seemed to come more to life with a guy reading it out loud.
I really love reading an e-book. I like that the screen lights up, you can even read it in the dark. I have a great tablet holder that I got at Bed, Bath and Beyond (Mercury brand, see picture below). I sit that on my table and put my book reader on it and read, without even holding the tablet. When you turn off your tablet, it saves the page your were on. You can highlight a word in the book and it looks up the meaning. When I was reading Fifty Shades of Grey, I had to look up words I have never heard of before. I think the writer just looked up words to throw into her story. You just tap the screen to turn the page.
The best thing that I have discovered is that I joined Amazon Prime to get the free shipping a some more free e-books, and movies. You can also watch movies on the Kindle Fire. I just watched Ghost Protocol on it yesterday. It looked great. I am also reading a book that I got to borrow-read called Cross Current. You get one a month.
I ordered a great case for the Kindle to zip it up to carry it in. I had a Cruz tablet last year and I went to the doctor with it. I dropped it and it got a little crack in the corner when it hit pavement. This case zips closed and it looks like it would protect it good. I put some rhinestones on the outside of it today. I ordered more rhinestones today, to bling it up more.
I know that some people hate e-books, they love real books, but after giving them a try, I think I like the e-books better than holding a real book. I also like the fact that I don’t have to return it to the library, it goes away after the time it is due back.
I got myself a Kindle Fire to cut down on weight when travelling but I still prefer a real book.

I got a kindle for Christmas, and have just set it up. It’s really great, and I love the way you can adjust the size of the text. It’s even easy to read in bright sunlight, which is fabulous. I never thought I would prefer anything to a real book, but I’ve been surprised by this invention.
I have not tried to read it in bright sunlight, it is good to know it works in the sun. I use it all the time. I think I read more now than I ever have.
