Little bird. (Cedar Waxwing)

Saturday morning, right at breakfast time there was a loud thump on the window.  Something hit the window pretty hard.  My husband said “What was that?”  He got up from the table and looked outside.  There was a bird on the ground.  He had hit the window and fell down on our patio.  He was laying on his back, not moving.  I ran and put on my gloves and went outside.  He was very still. 

 

 

I picked it up gently. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I sat down on the grass and let him sit on my hand.  I think he was dazed.

I just sat there and he just sat there.  I told him it was ok, he just knocked himself out.  He was safe with me.  He still just sat there.

 

I took him to my backyard and put him on the deck.  All his bird friends were flying around.  I have these Holly bushes with red berries.  They like to dive into the bushes and eat the berries. 

He sat there for a while.  I sat right beside him.

He looked around but he didn’t move.

 

I was worried about the little bird.  He just sat there.  He finally just took off and flew awy.
