The weekly photo challenge is Free Spirit.
I live in Nevada. There are a lot of wild horses in my neighborhood. They have started coming out of the hills to eat the grass around here. There has not been a lot of rain, so they see the green grass and stand and eat it. The other morning, just around the corner from my house, there were about 20 horses standing in the grass. Everyday the wind horses stand and eat the grass at the high school that my son goes to. I stopped and took a picture of one. This is a totally “Free Spirit”. He runs wild and free.
Interesting contrast – it’s the humans who live enclosed by fences…

You are lucky to be able to see wild horses, Connie. I don’t think I have ever seen one. It’s good they can still run wild and free.

It seems amazing that you have wild horses around. I’ve only ever seen wild sheep in the hills in the UK. Are they friendly?

They don’t run when you drive by. I don’t know if you could walk up to them.

I saw 2 horses this morning. They were laying down in the grass. I wanted to take a picture, but the traffic was heavy, so I didn’t stop.

WOW – horses coming out and wandering among humans. It sounds like a throw back to the pioneer days. EXCITING …!!! Well I think so maybe it isn’t. Are they dangerous? I’m so embarrassed. Is that a city girl question? Well, a city girl is what I am so I guess it’s okay. ~~~~~ : – O

I don’t go right up to them, but they just walk around our streets. One walked across the street the other day in front of my car. He walked slow and was not in a hurry. I saw a bunch of them 2 days ago standing by the road. There was horse droppings in my neighbors driveway this morning. They walked up the driveway to the garage door. The house is not done and there is no yard yet. I don’t know why they came up the driveway.
