In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Careful.”
We went to Craters of the moon National Monument in Idaho. Craters of the Moon is a vast ocean of lava flows and cinder cones. It is black lava everywhere. We stopped at the steep lava hill and my son wanted to walk to the top. Then he ran down. You have to be careful because if you fall, it could skin you up pretty good.
The little kid in the picture was really running down the slope. It looked a lot blacker in real life. The black didn’t come out real black in the pictures. We went to the campground and it was just black rough lava. We didn’t stay there because it was really hot there.
This looks amazing!

I’ve never been, but have heard of it and would like to see it. I like the curves in that last photo and the vastness of the lava in the first two.

It is a long drive to it and it is not real big. Unless you are near it,it is not worth driving to.
