There have been a lot of wild horses going thru the neighborhood. Two days ago, I came home from getting my son from school. I saw a group of horses walking down the street. These are the pictures from that day.
I got two carrots and walked towards the horses and broke up a carrot and threw it to them. Then they started practically running towards me. I threw the whole carrot down and walked back to my house.
They went down the street and started eating grass in yards. Some guy down the street blew a horn and had his yard rigged to zap them somehow, because they took off running away. It sounded like a taser gun.
Bye horses.
I never saw such a thing!! Big Smile Connie!

I hope they won’t get hunted down like the others did a few years ago. They are so beautiful.

Me too, it makes me sad when they catch them.

I hate that guy, who ever he is, he can’t see the beauty in these horses?!? I would love to experience wild horses taking a stroll around my block. I’m like you, I’d feed them. I love the baby one with the mom.

Terrific photos, Connie! You are very brave!
Who gets to clean up the horse poop?

A lot of people do not clean up the horse poop. People drive over it and it dries up like grass, but it is a mess.

It’s very good manure for roses!

What a lovely sight! I wonder why these horses come into town. Is it because the grass is better fed and greener in people’s gardens, rather than out in the fields? 🙂

There are no fields, we are pretty much in a drought so they come for the grass in people’s yards. It is desert looking around here.

Mother horses are called mares. Father horses are stallions, Castrated Stallions are Geldings, baby horses are Foals (both male & female). Male foals are colts, female foals are fillies. If you use the “correct’ terms it helps educate ignorant people.
